Your Questions About Teen Driving Confidence—Answered
Frequently Asked Questions About Teen Driving & Life Coaching
For Parents
How does your coaching differ from a traditional driving school?
My driving school is more than just a driving school; it is a life school. As a Certified Driving Instructor as well as a Certified Life Coach, I combine both to offer a unique driving experience and a coaching experience. We teach awareness, and we help to build confidence. I get you ready before you are ready.
How do you help teens manage driving anxiety or fear?
I help teens manage driving anxiety and fear by helping them focus on the positive emotions rather than the negative ones. Through mindful thinking, I teach them and encourage them to use the power of positive thinking to shift their fears to faith, their doubt to enthusiasm, their uncertainty to certainty, their doubt into trust, etc.
What life skills beyond driving do you help develop?
I help teens ascertain a belief in themselves that will encourage them to go out of their comfort zones and achieve anything they put their minds to, not just operating a motor vehicle.
What does a typical session look like—driving, coaching, or both?
A session with Drive Your Life Now will typically be to coach your teen so they will feel calm and confident before, during and after their driving experiences.
How do you handle setbacks or resistance from students?
Patience and gentleness are key in handling students who have had setbacks or resist driving for one reason or another. I do not force anyone to get behind the wheel until they feel safe to do so.
What qualifications or certifications do you have in both driving instruction and life coaching?
I became a Certified Driving Instructor through the Registry of Motor Vehicles in 2008; I became a Certified Empowerment Trainer through The Empowerment Institute in 2005; I became a Certified Life Coach through The Life Coach School in 2020.
Can you tailor coaching to my teen’s personality or learning style?
I absolutely can adapt to each teen’s personality or learning style with patience, acceptance, deep understanding, gentleness, and encouragement.
Do you offer support or guidance for parents as well?
Yes, parents can sign up to attend a virtual class or in-person session to help them prepare for the mandated task of driving with their teenagers. Much support and guidance is offered in these sessions.
Have you worked with teens who have special needs, anxiety, or ADHD?
Yes, during the first 10 years of my driving school business, I specialized in working with teens who have special needs, including anxiety and ADHD. I continue to work with students who face these challenges, helping them build confidence both behind the wheel and in life.
Are your services covered by insurance or reimbursable through any programs?
No. Our services are not covered by insurance or any other reimbursable programs.
For Students
Will you help me feel less nervous about driving?
One of my strengths is helping students feel less nervous behind the wheel. I will personally coach you to discover where the fear lies, and I help to shift the fear into faith.
What if I mess up or panic while driving?
If or when you mess up or panic, do not despair. We will pull over; talk about the situation; and get back on the road when you are ready. You will not be great at driving when you first begin.
Can I text or message you between sessions if I need help or reassurance?
Yes. Once you have me as your Life Coach, you can text or message me at any time. I never go away.
How long will it take until I feel confident driving on my own?
This depends on how much driving practice you have—with a driving school and at home with your parents/guardians. The more practice you do; the more confident you will become.
Can we talk about things I’m stressed about, even if they’re not driving-related?
Yes. My coaching sessions are geared towards helping with any stressful situation a student may be experiencing, not just driving.
Are your sessions chill and non-judgmental?
Yes. Sessions with AnnaSab will be just that. We start with a few minutes of breathing and relaxation techniques. I focus on self-love and acceptance.
Do you help with stuff like time management, self-confidence, or test anxiety?
Yes. I help with anything that you may be struggling with that is preventing you from living your best life.
What if I already finished driver’s ed—can you still help me?
Yes. I help teenagers and young adults before, during and after driver’s ed. Controlling emotions is a lifelong practice, and I help with anything that comes along during life’s journey.
